I'm excited! What do I need to know to prepare for the camp?

Here's a list of Frequently Asked Questions that can hopefully help prepare you for an AWESOME time.

What should I bring to the camp?

A must is an open heart to learn. The rest of the packing list will be given when the date draws nearer.

What should I NOT bring to the camp?

  • A sour plum face : (

  • Cigarettes, alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia

  • Cell phones (must be surrendered to Igniters upon registration)

  • Digital entertainment like iPods, iPads etc.

  • Knives or other weapons

  • Expensive valuables

  • Gambling goods

Can I request for my dormmate?

Camps like this are one of the best places to make friends. Some of you will even gain some friendships for life!! But back to your question, we have been there before so, Yes! You can make ONE dormmate request in your application form. Cool? ;-)

What other activities are there on the camp grounds?

We have a very exciting and fun-packed program planned for you. But at the Free & Easy slots, there's a basketball court, football field, table tennis, mountain bikes for rent ... plenty for an energetic youth like you.

How many campers are there in each dorm?

The good news is all dormitories are fully air conditioned. Yay! There are approximately five to six campers allocated to each dorm. You will be notified on registration day. But rest assured, you won't be alone!

How do I get to Outbac Broga campsite?

Outbac Broga is in Semenyih, which is about 45 mins from KL. All campers from PJ & KL will meet in a central meeting point (TBC) and be transported by bus to the campsite. Campers from outstation can make own arrangements to meet directly there.

Will the camp be similar to the previous year's camp?

The camp content will be similar to previous year's but with some enhancements here and there. However, with every camp, it is always different because of the different participants that sign up for the camp, making the dynamics always interesting.

This sounds exciting! How do I sign my child up for the camp?

Here's a list of Frequently Asked Questions that can hopefully help you find your answers.

What is the registration process?

We'll try to make it easy-peasy for you. Just fill in your details in the "Quick Sign Up" form and submit. We'll receive your info and get back to you in 24 hours on payment process to complete the registration.

What kind of activities will my child participate in at the camp?

The program agenda has been published on the Camp Program page. 

With the many outdoor activities and exciting programs, how will I will know that my child is safe?

Please know that we are parents too! We understand your concern and hence, we will do everything within our control to ensure every campers safety.

Is the food served halal?

For the comfort and convenience of all campers, the venue does not serve pork/lard/alcohol/MSG in all the food. All ingredients are sourced from halal suppliers and the kitchen staff have gone through Halal meal preparation courses.

What kind of medical expertise is available at the camp?

The staff at Outbac Broga and the Chief Igniter himself have First Aid certification by Academy of Safety and Emergency Care.

What is the Camper-to-Igniter ratio?

We estimate that it will be 6-7 campers to an Igniter. There will also be full-time Outbac Broga staff available during the Camp.

How do I encourage a reluctant child to attend this camp?

Firstly, we can't stress enough about how important it is for a child to first be willing and excited to come for this camp. It will help if your child has a close friend that is going with him or her. 

Can I visit my child during the Camp?

We have a very exciting and fun-packed program planned for your child. It would be best to let him or her benefit from the camp without any distractions. However, if there are any emergencies, feel free to give us a call and we will help you do the necessary.

What can I expect from my child after the camp?

Let us be upfront to tell you that we are not miracle workers! But, we can assure parents that after the camp, your child will have greater awareness of what it is to be a leader and have a better understanding of his/her own strength and opportunities for growth. And this is a big step to a brighter future. The development of a child's character and leadership qualities will require continuous support and guidance from the parents themselves.
